Email Sent November 1st, 2022 Good evening Slinger soccer families SSC is planning to participate in the Hartford Christmas parade. We need volunteers to make it happen! We have open spaces for a Christmas parade coordinator, and10 families to help decorate and/or march in the parade. Four hours of volunteer time will be fulfilled for all participating families. This is a great opportunity if you still need to fulfill your volunteer hours. Families will help with minimal prep, to ride on/walk with the float. Hartford Christmas Parade Saturday, November 12th. 3:00-5:00pm (2:00ish-6:00pm) Theme:CANDYLAND Here are some of the duties of volunteers: Secure a parade-ready trailer/vehicle. Coordinate with SSC President Mark Steger who will provide: -Decorating supplies (available in the concession stand) -Adult sized Soccer Ball Costume that can be worn -Candy to be handed out Gather additional decorating supplies depending on what the trailer owner will allow. Wear Adult-Sized Soccer Ball Costume Walk in the Parade/Ride on the Float -Try to incorporate your Slinger Soccer Gear, Jerseys. etc. -Bring bags/buckets to divide the candy into (SSC provides the candy) With the timeline this year, any decorating can be done while in the staging line before the parade begins (unless people want to coordinate before that).
